IL2009 Conference Questions
From InfoTodayWiki
Q: Will the conference be taking student volunteers? If so, what are the details?
A: Yes, if you are student and want to volunteer, please contact Jane Dysart, Conference Chair -- jane(at)dysartjones.com. Thanks for your interest!
Q:Would this conference benefit elementary and middle school librarians?
A: Internet @ Schools is directly aimed at K-12 school libraries but the entire Internet Librarian conference is useful as well.
Q: When will registration open? I can't find a link to it on the website and would like to know the cost.
A: As soon as registration opens we will post a link here and there will be one at official conference site.
Q: Will there be free Wi-Fi in conference rooms?
A: Found the answer here: WiFi (currently TBA, but other hot-spots are listed).
A: Wifi access will be available in the Steinbeck Forum, the Steinbeck Lobby (open area in front of Forum), and all of the DeAnza rooms. No access is available in the Marriott. The wireless will be turned off after sessions are over.
Q: Once registered for the confrerence, do attendees need to sign up for specific sessions / tracks before the event? Are any sessions ever 'sold out'?
A: No need to sign up for specific sessions/tracks. The rooms at the Monterey Convention Center and the Marriott are a good size and everyone who wants to attend a session should have no problem.
Q: Will there be any organized tours of area libraries (Monterey & Salinas Public, DLI, Monterey Inst. of Foreign Studies, etc.)?
A: The conference has not organized any tours, however, if you call the Monterey Public Library, I know they would happy to give your a tour. And I expect some of the others you mention would be too.
