Airports / Shuttles
The San Jose airport, located only 2 miles outside of the downtown, is serviced by all major airlines. Ground transportation including rental cars, taxis, shuttles, and limo service is readily available for travelers.
Directions
Taxi Service
According to TripAdvisor: Visitors who are looking for a cab ride or who want to rent a car in San Jose will have no trouble. Several taxi and car rental companies do business there. Cars can be rented at the San Jose International Airport as well as at several locations in town. Among the companies that offer in-town locations are Serendipity and Hertz.
Taxis are also easy to find in the city. They can be hired at the airport as well as at any hotel. Those who choose to call a cab can check out Checker Cab 408-293-1234 or Alpha Cab 408-295-9500
Public Transportation
Public transportation via Valley Transit Authority, or VTA, is easily accessible from the Mineta San Jose International Airport. Visitors can access the light rail system by taking the free and frequent service #10 VTA bus to the AIRPORT/METRO stop. From that point, the light rail can be accessed and travelers can go in several directions, including making thier way quickly to the downtown area. Visitors can also access the CalTrain railroad route to Sunnyvale, Mountain View, Palo Alto, San Mateo and cities all along the Peninsula to San Francisco by taking the same #10 VTA Bus to the Santa Clara Caltrain train station.

Further Afield: Things to Do outside of San Jose
- It's definitely worth taking a side trip to Cruz(30 miles away) if you have some free time before or after the conference. The beaches there are incredible.
- The History Museumin Mountain View is currently exhibiting one of only two Enginesever built as well as items related to the birth and growth of the computer industry in Silicon Valley.
